Synopsis
At a coming-of-age rite, a mermaid named Marina spends one day on land and rescues a drowning prince. Believing they are destined to be together, she asks the Sea Hag Charybdis to make her human. The spell takes her voice and gives her one week to find the prince and make him declare her his true love—or she will die and dissolve into sea foam.Taken in by a monastery, Marina searches for the prince, who mistakenly believes a princess saved him. Along the way, she encounters singing sharks, cheerful deep-sea fish, and Charybdis’ sinister Hench fish. When Marina’s sisters steal a magical weapon from the Sea Hag, they pay for it by becoming hideous. The weapon could save Marina, but only if she sacrifices another life. Unable to do so, Marina faces death—until she meets the Daughters of the Air. Through her selflessness, she joins them and takes part in their good deeds.
