Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground-based self-defense system that helps people succeed in difficult situations using concepts of leverage, unbalancing, and joint locks. Similar to Judo or wrestling in that all training is done with a partner, except sparring typically starts on the knees. From a fitness perspective, it is a combination of intense aerobic and anaerobic activity.
