Flower and Snake Presents: A Weekend with KnotReallyDead and Specimen Red

About this event

Saturday and Sunday, November 21 - 22, 2026:

Improvisation with Classic Shapes (well that was weird!)

A 2-Day Advanced Skills Workshop:

In this Advanced Skills class, SpecimenRed and KnotReallyDead will share how they approach creating a sequence of ties based off of classical shapes and components, then bending the limits of what those shapes can do and represent. This class will require a high level of technical proficiency and the ability to tie and sustain a suspension in the gote.

Prerequisite and materials:

• Strong fundamentals in application of single and double column ties, frictions, and tension.

• Sustainable gote

• Experience tying with your partner is highly recommended

• Experience with suspension

• Ability to manage multiple uplines and upline safety

• 10-12 ropes, at least 4 being safe for use as uplines

Bios:

KnotReallyDead has been exploring rope for nearly a decade, and studying semenawa as a focus since 2021. Together with Specimen, they have been discovering what the balance of technique, communication, and emotional openness can mean within rope.

SpecimenRed has been involved in rope for over 10 years. They bring an understanding of the body, and what it means to be present in rope, that is derived from both their experience as a bottom and their background in aerial arts. They are currently living in Boston with Knotreallydead and their cats

Doors open at 930a; Class starts promptly at 10a each day!
