About this event
Grades: 1-5
Knowledge of chess moves and rules is required.
To get started in chess, the ChessKid videos here (opens in new tab) and here (opens in new tab) are very helpful!
Each class will begin with a chess lesson, with the instructor introducing a chess subject to the students. Subjects include opening strategy, chess tactics, checkmating patterns, and more. After that, chess puzzles will be offered, and students will finish the class with playing time. They may play with their friends, or the coach will assign games per skill level.
This is a popular activity with limited space, so sign up early!! First come, first served!
