About this event
Reggaeton was popularized in the early 90’s and takes inspiration from both Jamaican and Latin American traditions. This genre is Afro-Latino and originated in Puerto Rico and Panama. The beat in every reggaeton song is called “Dembow”—the beat that makes you want to move, get down, and have fun! The dance typically associated with reggaeton is perreo, which we will do a lot in class. We’ll work on isolations, reggaeton grooves, and learn a combo to a reggaeton song.
