About this event

Somatics centers around the development of the body/mind intelligence that supports everyday and complex movement. In this series, participants will be introduced to an array of Somatic techniques such as Alexander Technique, Body-Mind Centering, Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, and mainly- Kinetic Awareness. Developed by Elaine Summers of the original Judson Dance Theater group, Kinetic Awareness centers around the study of anatomical knowledge and proprioceptive sense to aid wellness, as well as learning techniques to massage the body using rubber balls.
