About this event

In this two-part class, students will learn basic botanical terms and plant parts to inform and inspire botanical drawing. The first hour of each class will be a lecture by Herbarium Collections Manager, David Giblin, where parts of the plant (i.e., plant morphology) are introduced and explained using a slide show and live plant materials. Students will spend the next two hours drawing those plant parts that best match their interests while receiving guidance and feedback from botanical illustrator, Crystal Shin. The first class will focus on vegetative plant parts including roots, stems, leaves, and the second class will focuson reproductive plant parts, including flowers and fruits.
