- ➤ The League of Women Voters of Snohomish County and the Pacific Northwest Forest Climate Alliance will host a meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Third Place Commons in Bothell to discuss protecting public lands amid plans to open forests for logging. Everett Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Snohomish County PUD announced that electric and water rates will increase by an average of 2.5% with electric bills rising about $3.22 a month effective April 1 (water rates increased Jan. 1) as the board approved the adjustments to cover rising material and operational costs. Everett Post
- ➤ Property owners in Snohomish County who face recurring flooding may soon apply for a voluntary floodplain home buyout program funded by federal grants. The county program, which will take two to three years to complete and requires meeting strict criteria, helps residents leave high-risk areas. Everett Herald
