  • The Everett Station District Alliance Workforce Initiative will host a career fair on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Everett Station’s Weyerhaeuser Room featuring local employers who are offering job opportunities for job seekers; the free event invites attendees to bring copies of their resumes to network and join raffle opportunities.  My Everett News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Sunday, firefighters at Gold Bar station rescued six puppies after two individuals dropped off three unresponsive pups and deputies found three additional sick pups — all received CPR, oxygen therapy, and naloxone before being transported to Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital as Animal Control investigates a suspected fentanyl overdose.  Everett Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Jan. 9, state officials launched the Cascadia Sustainable Aviation Accelerator in Snohomish County with $10 million in tax dollars (matched by a philanthropic donation) to support sustainable aviation fuel research and industry growth. Executives from Boeing, Amazon and state lawmakers attended to promote greener flight initiatives.  Everett Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Snohomish County Council recognized Korean American Day on Tuesday during a ceremony featuring Korean consul general Eun-ji Seo and Mukilteo Council member Jason Moon, as the council honored contributions from over 16,000 Korean Americans in the area — a tribute to local heritage.  Everett Herald
  • Snohomish County extended its free flood voucher program until March 19 to help households impacted by December flooding dispose of damaged items at designated waste facilities. Affected residents can get vouchers without needing formal documentation at several local sites.  Everett Herald
  • Everett announced that Mike Fong will become the new senior executive director for economic development and opportunity starting Feb. 9. Fong brings decades of experience from state and federal agencies (including the U.S. Small Business Administration) to support business growth.  Everett Post
