- ➤ Housing Hope, the largest non-profit housing developer in Snohomish County, will end two on-site job training programs due to funding issues, closing Kindred Café (at the end of January) and RENEW Home and Decor (at the end of March). - ➤ Downtown's former Hunan Palace is now Quan Ong Sau, an authentic Vietnamese restaurant that held a December soft opening and is open daily (11am–9pm and cafe 6am–10am) at 2821 Pacific Ave adjacent to Kaiser Permanente Everett Medical Center; its menu features pho, spring rolls and beef stew. - ➤ Everett Public Library trimmed its budget by 12% from 2024 to 2025 to help balance a $12.6 million deficit, cutting staff and open hours by 25%. A new strategic plan aims to restore full funding by the end of 2027 & will guide service improvements based on community input. Everett Post
- ➤ A new Washington law gives people the right to repair cellphones, computers, and appliances, as manufacturers must supply repair shops with parts, tools, and instructions (aiming to reduce waste). King County’s Recycling and Environmental Services said the measure supports sustainability. KUOW
