- ➤ NW Plus Credit Union donated $20,000 to local food banks and pantries through its Hunger Heroes campaign—membership and matching contributions doubled its goal and checks are being distributed to six community partners in January. My Everett News
- ➤ Everett Animal Shelter on Smith Island was forced to evacuate on Dec. 9 when heavy flooding hit, and by Dec. 10 over 120 animals had been fostered with several later finding permanent homes in the community. Everett Herald

- ➤ Sound Transit will open the 2 Line on March 28, linking Lynnwood to Seattle, Bellevue and Redmond (with new stops in Judkins Park and Mercer Island). Peak-hour trains will run every four minutes to improve commuter service. Everett Herald
