COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Everett is offering a free disaster preparedness course to help residents learn essential skills; it starts March 3 and runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Everett Municipal Building at 2930 Wetmore Ave — register by emailing Vickie Fontaine.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The county council voted to donate the 1934 Granite Falls Bridge once its replacement is built + interested parties will have a six-month window to submit proposals. The current bridge remains open, while work on the new structure will begin in 2028 and continue through 2029.  Everett Herald
  • Everett’s Office of Emergency Management invites residents to register for the free Community Emergency Response Team Basic Academy starting March 3, 2026 at the Everett Municipal Building (2930 Wetmore Ave). Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. to train locals for emergencies.  My Everett News
  • Commuters face planned closures as WSDOT removes unused overhead ramps connecting I-405 and SR 522. SR 522 lanes close from Friday night, Feb. 27 through early Monday, March 2, and I-405 fully closes March 6–9 and March 13–16 for ramp demolition and express toll lane expansion—detours may cause heavy traffic.  Everett Post
