- ➤ A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook the Cathcart area in south Snohomish County at 5:42 a.m. Tuesday; scientists (who note that damage usually occurs with quakes above magnitude 4) say the tremor was near the threshold of human perception. Everett Herald
