- ➤ Vendor applications for the 2026 Evergreen State Fair are open for food concessionaires, commercial exhibitors, local artisans and nonprofits; commercial exhibitors can choose from multiple spaces and apply until filled. The fair runs from Aug. 27-Sept. 1 and Sept. 3-7. Everett Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State lawmakers are considering a $14 million cut to Running Start that may reduce free college classes for over 3,000 dual-credit students. The proposal could limit the number of funded classes at Everett Community College and affect about 500 Everett Public Schools students. Everett Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Evergreen State Fair was awarded $89,225 from the Washington State Department of Agriculture to fund planned 2026 capital projects, including new swine pen panels, an electric sliding gate to replace the drive-through gate, and a display hall roof repair — with additional updates planned for grandstand and asphalt parts.
