Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 7th of March.
Good morning, Everett.
💼 Business
Local construction companies risk losing crucial working capital if Senate Bill 6346 — the proposed millionaires tax — is enacted, said Interwest Construction Inc. President Roy Swihart.
The tax may slow growth, reduce bonding capacity, and delay hiring for housing and infrastructure in Snohomish County.
🌲 Environment
Community Transit earned *Salmon-Safe* certification last Friday for its work to reduce stormwater runoff at its 50-acre facility.
It is the first transit agency to receive the designation and will continue to monitor water quality to protect salmon habitat.
🏛️ Government
Everett Police and City Attorney’s Office proposed a municipal ordinance that would make reckless exposure of children to dangerous drugs (including fentanyl) a gross misdemeanor.
The measure follows local overdose investigations and state lawmakers letting a proposed child safety update die.
