- ➤ Everett’s first zine festival, Evergreen Zine Fest, will be held at Bayside Cafe on Marine View Drive on Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.— over 25 local artists will present self-published work including zines, art prints, and comics. Everett Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mukilteo School District may cut about 41 positions in the next school year due to falling enrollment; the board will vote on the proposal on Tuesday, March 24. The district said staffing adjustments might come from attrition as employees leave. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett Public Schools bought land (east of Mill Creek) for a new elementary school to serve growing enrollment; the purchase was completed on March 11. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett High School counselor Gretchen Stiger was named Washington School Counselor of the Year on March 11 for her 15 years of service and for starting Sammy’s Closet (a student resource center) to support students. She will represent the state at a Washington, D.C. conference in 2027 for national recognition. Everett Herald
