- ➤ Cascade High School will host the free 2025 Transition Resource Fair on Tuesday, March 18 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. for people with disabilities, their families, teachers, employers, and caregivers to access resources from over 40 agencies and attend workshops on employment, guardianship, and housing. - ➤ Local Best Friends Animal Society will waive adoption fees for cats and dogs over six months old from March 15 to March 31 as part of its Spring Fling Promotion—staff will conduct pet meet and greets by appointment, and all animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites. - ➤ Industries in Washington are getting ready for higher prices because of tariffs set by the current trade rules—Commerce Director Joe Nguyễn said most tariffs are passed on to consumers. He warned that areas such as farms and airplane makers may face more trouble if tariffs continue. KUOW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce will host a State of the City event on March 27 at APEX Everett—where Mayor Cassie Franklin will give her annual address that will be livestreamed. On March 31, the Mayor will provide a free community update at Everett Station to share city plans and volunteer opportunities. City of Everett
- ➤ Everett Transit delivered an extra 421,000 rides in 2024—a 32% surge that brought its total to 1.75 million rides—part of a 12% overall gain that added 16.6 million trips across the region. The increase followed the opening of Link Light Rail in Snohomish County. Everett Herald
- ➤ At its March 12 meeting, Everett City Council approved a proclamation naming March 25 American Red Cross Month and approved the previous meeting minutes. The council ordered seven rebuilt Gillig buses and awarded a contract for a new Transit Mall Station—members also discussed plans to boost public safety and urban development. Everett Post
