CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Snohomish County police arrested a 42 year old Oregon man on Wednesday outside a Pierce County apartment after he admitted to using a firearm to shoot through an Alderwood Mall entrance on Jan 18 to steal $20K in sneakers and to commit burglaries at South Hill, Southcenter and Tacoma malls where a rifle was later found. - ➤ A 54-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, March 13th by Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force detectives during a traffic stop in the 700 block of 75th ST SE, and his home in the 600 block of 93rd Street SW was searched—recovering 2,818 grams of powder cocaine, 14.7 grams of rock cocaine, 556 grams of fentanyl, packaging material, a digital scale and a handgun—while he faces charges for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of stolen firearm and multiple counts of controlled substance offenses. - ➤ On March 13, several firearms regulation bills survived the legislative cutoff and will move on in Washington—House Bill 1163 would require gun buyers to get a permit and safety training—while proposals on bulk purchases and secure storage did not advance this session. Everett Post
- ➤ Everett Utilities will add a $5 fee to past due accounts for mailed reminders starting in March (to cover mailing costs) and urges customers to learn about assistance programs if they need help paying their bills.
