CRIME NEWS

  • Everett police arrested Percy Levy on Thursday during a traffic stop after a 16-month investigation found he had fentanyl, powder cocaine and a loaded .38-caliber handgun—he had once received a sentence commutation and become a community advocate before the arrest.  Everett Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Everett Film Festival will celebrate its 25th year with film screenings on April 5th and 6th at the Everett Performing Arts Center — the event will feature international films and local favorites that highlight the creativity of women filmmakers.  Everett Post
  • Historic Everett is hosting its first ever book fair on Saturday March 22 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Port Gardner Bay Winery in Downtown Everett, where over 15 local authors will sign and discuss over 50 books. Organizers say the event is planned to become annual+ they expect it to draw book lovers+ from the community.  My Everett News

  • The City of Everett water utility shut off a section of a water transmission line east of Lake Stevens for emergency repairs after a fracture was discovered on March 15—crews have been on site since then. No in-town customers are affected, but up to 22,000 Snohomish County PUD customers are asked to conserve water until service is restored.  City of Everett
