COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Everett Public Library will host its third annual Spring Seed Share where local gardeners can share and take seeds, seedlings, and bulbs to plan their spring gardens. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Main Library on 2702 Hoyt Ave — a satellite site is available at Evergreen Branch on 9512 Evergreen Way.  Everett Post

CULTURE NEWS

  • Women’s Work Productions will revive Carried by the Current, an original play by local author Nicola Pearson about Texas women who built a safe house and common fund, at the Snohomish PUD Theatre from March 20 to 29. The opening night on March 20 at 7:00 p.m. will benefit local women’s shelters — proceeds from ticket sales go toward them — while honoring Women’s History Month.  Everett Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Everett Utilities sent duplicate billing notices to some customers due to a computer network error and said no fees were charged. Customers with questions should call 425-257-8999 or visit the office at 3101 Cedar Street for help.  City of Everett
  • City crews fixed a crack in the 52-inch water pipe east of Lake Stevens that affected up to 22,000 customers from Snohomish County PUD—no in-town homes lost water and no property damage was reported. Affected customers are told to run water for 30 minutes to clear sediment—if it still looks dirty, they should call the utility at 425-257-8821.  My Everett News
  • The Everett City Council awarded a $2 million contract today to move the Mall Station platform 500 feet west – $1.8 million will come from the Everett Transit fund and $200,000 from Brixton Capital to free the site for a new TopGolf facility. The new saw-tooth designed platform will improve bus operations and is set to finish construction by the end of 2025.  Everett Herald
  • Snohomish County PUD will host the grand opening of its North County office complex at 17601 59th Ave. NE in Arlington on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with tours and lineman demonstrations running until 2:30 p.m. The new two-story facility will replace the old offices—built in the 1950s and seismically deficient—and offer a 75-person auditorium starting Aug. 4 while also serving as a hub for power restoration in major storms.  Everett Herald

  • Snohomish County health officials confirmed a measles case in an adult on Monday—marking the second confirmed case in Washington this year—and found that evaluations showed no risk of public exposure.  Everett Herald
