  • Butter Notes Cafe at 902 N Broadway hosts jazz jam sessions every other Sunday and creative events including a podcast studio. Owner Sean Dokko plans to expand programs (featuring fiber arts and more) to connect locals while serving coffee, crepes and croffles daily except Wednesday.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new SBA disaster loan center opened in Sultan on March 16 to help business owners and homeowners recover from the December flood. Located at Sultan City Hall (319 Main St.), it is open on select weekdays until April 3.  Everett Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Wesco announced its All-Conference boys basketball teams for the 2025-26 season, honoring first and second teams for the 4A, 3A North and 3A South divisions. Selected athletes come from schools like Glacier Peak, Arlington and Lake Stevens, with Coach of the Year honors given to Alex Iverson, Jeff Larson and Joey Petschl.  Everett Herald
  • Reed Nagel, senior guard for Glacier Peak, was named The Herald’s 2025-26 All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year after his team earned a third straight state tournament placement. He averaged 16 points and 6.5 assists and plans to study finance in college+ continue his basketball career.  Everett Herald
  • Everett Seagulls stunned Marysville Getchell on Monday, March 23 by scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn their first win of the season (Jack Franklin’s walk-off single drove in the winning run) at their home field.  Everett Herald
  • Stanwood’s junior pitcher Addi Anderson struck out 15 batters to lead her team to a 4-0 shutout win over Kamiak on Monday, March 23. Anderson and teammate Jordan Rancourt went 2-for-3 and each drove in a run.  Everett Herald
