CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A man was shot in the leg Saturday night in Lake Stevens when he chased three suspects breaking into his truck—Lake Stevens police said the suspects fled in a white vehicle and urged anyone with information to call their tip line. Everett Herald
- ➤ On March 14th, Percy Levy was arrested in Everett by the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force—he was given $1.5 million bail and faces 11 felony drug and gun charges while his record shows he served 17 years in prison, received clemency in 2019, worked on justice reform, and ran Redemption Auto Sales, and he remains in Snohomish County Jail awaiting trial. - ➤ Washington lawmakers advanced Senate Bill 5041 by a 6-3 vote in the House Labor & Workplace Standards Committee to let picketers receive up to three months of benefits starting about two weeks after a strike begins. The measure now moves to the House Rules Committee — as debates over amendments that could reduce benefits continue. Everett Post
- ➤ King County Executive Dow Constantine has been nominated to serve as Sound Transit CEO after a candidate process that included public input and multiple panels—he was chosen from 60 applicants. The Sound Transit board will vote on his appointment on Thursday. KUOW
- ➤ The new Snohomish County PUD North County Office opened on March 22 in Arlington to replace older, seismically deficient offices built in the 1950s in Stanwood and Arlington. The 25,900-square-foot building + 12,000-square-foot warehouse will serve communities as far north as Darrington and offer a 75-person auditorium for rental starting Aug 4. Everett Post
