CULTURE NEWS

  • Everett Film Festival takes place Saturday, Apr. 4 at the Everett Performing Arts Center (2710 Wetmore Ave) with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. The festival features nine short films, two feature films with Q&A sessions, and awards complimentary dinner and free popcorn to the first 250 full-day ticket buyers.  Snohomish County Tribune

  • Community Transit will change schedules for 12 bus routes in Snohomish County on Saturday, March 28 to improve rider connections, and riders can preview the updated plans now.  Snohomish County Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cascade High School will host a free heart screening for youth on April 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., organized by the Nick of Time Foundation & open to anyone aged 12 to 24. The event will detect hidden heart issues and offer CPR training for local participants.  Everett Herald

  • Eastern Ninebarks are set to bloom in local garden centers this spring, showcasing bright foliage in many colors.   • Wesco announced its 2025-26 All-Conference girls basketball teams, naming top players and coaches in Wesco 4A, 3A/2A North, and 3A/2A South divisions.   • Yesterday, Shorecrest's softball team outscored Cascade 21-8 to begin their season 4-0. The Scots displayed strong offense in a non-league contest in Everett with key hits from Riu Hanrahan and Natalie Fernandez.  Everett Herald
  • The Snohomish Panthers won a pitchers duel — beating the Monroe Bearcats 2-1 on Friday, Mar. 20 at their classic grass and clay field. Junior Trevor Vorderbruggen pitched a complete game as Monroe committed five errors.  Snohomish County Tribune
