- ➤ Volunteers of America received a $25K matching pledge from EverTrust Foundation that nearly cuts the $60K target for March Against Hunger to benefit the Community Food Bank; the campaign will end Saturday with a 5K race and food drive at Boxcar Park. Everett Herald
- ➤ Sno-Isle Libraries will host a celebration at the Lynnwood City Center transit station on Saturday when its bookmobile offers library card sign-ups, games, and face painting as part of Sound Transit's complete 2 Line opening. - ➤ GeekFest West will run July 17-19 at the Lynnwood Event Center with 90 vendors, 50 indie developers, tournaments, art displays, and late-night shows. - ➤ Mukilteo School District staff is recommending a second attempt at passing a $400M bond for school renovations after February voters gave it 57.2% support, short of the 60% needed; the board will decide by June if the measure goes on the November ballot (staff note that higher midterm turnout may boost support). - ➤ The Mukilteo School District Board approved a plan on Tuesday to cut about 41 FTE positions in the 2026-27 school year to save $6.2 million amid falling enrollment; some staff may leave via resignation or retirement rather than layoffs. Everett Herald

- ➤ Motorists in Everett must remove studded tires by Tuesday, Mar. 31 to avoid a $137 fine starting at midnight on Wednesday, Apr. 1. Tire shops may have long wait times (appointments are recommended) as officials warn the tires damage roads during winter. Everett Post
- ➤ Gov. Bob Ferguson signed House Bill 2334, which allows retailers to round cash purchases to the nearest five cents starting mid-June — addressing challenges from the discontinued production of pennies as Rep. April Berg noted many shoppers already experienced difficulty with making change. Everett Herald
