  • Hope ‘N Wellness will open a new location on Wednesday at 2617 Cedar St. after its previous spot at 3021 Rucker Ave. violated a city code — the organization is partnering with Our Lady of Hope Church and plans to expand services while ensuring neighborhood safety.  Everett Herald
  • The YMCA of Snohomish County announced its 2025 Community Campaign raised over $1.52 million through volunteer-led efforts—funds that will support programs in child care, youth leadership, and wellness initiatives—and thanked more than 2,200 donors. The funds will benefit six local Y branches, Youth Leadership programs, Early Learning initiatives and YMCA Camp Casey.  My Everett News

  • A 66 year old man was found dead from a stabbing on a Marysville sidewalk early Monday at around 6:17 a.m.—police are searching for suspects and believe the attack was isolated.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers advanced HB 1321 that gives Gov. Bob Ferguson the authority to block out-of-state National Guard troops from entering Washington without his approval — the Senate committee approved the bill after a March 25 public hearing. If approved by the Rules Committee and then on the Senate floor, the law will take effect immediately, matching similar protections in states like Idaho and Texas while leaving the president’s federal power unchanged.  Everett Post
  • Train service on the Amtrak Cascades route will resume today between Seattle and Vancouver with Amfleet I train cars from Chicago while buses fill in service gaps. Service between Seattle and Portland will return later this week—trains will run with two coach cars, 17 business class seats and a café car—so passengers are advised to book in advance.  Everett Herald
  • Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin renewed the city's commitment to protecting young people in her State of the City address last Thursday. The new directive strengthens school resource officer programs and creates a youth safety roundtable to help reduce youth violence.  Everett Post
