- ➤ Christina Strand, a community engagement specialist with Community Transit and board president for Sharing Wheels in Everett—an organization that repairs bikes and offers classes for low-income residents, is a finalist for the Herald Business Journal’s Emerging Leaders Award and works to make transit affordable in Snohomish County. - ➤ Melinda Cervantes, a dedicated volunteer in Snohomish County, has built bridges for Spanish-speaking residents by linking them with public representatives through her work with the Everett Fire Department and other local nonprofits. - ➤ The search continues today for Jonathan Hoang, a 21-year-old Arlington man who was last seen on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. wearing a green shirt, khaki pants and black slip-on shoes and possibly carrying his iPad — officials have deployed ground teams, K-9 units, drones and the SnoHawk 5 helicopter to scour local areas — and they urge residents to check backyards, outbuildings and garages for clues. - ➤ Everett Police Department's Public Information Officer Natalie Given is one of 12 finalists for the Herald Business Journal’s Emerging Leaders Award and helped organize Cafecito con la Policia, a community event held days after a homicide on Casino Road to listen to Spanish speaking residents concerns. - ➤ Providence Swedish has expanded its Behavioral Health services in Everett and Edmonds, opening a new Pacific Campus space at 916 Pacific Ave—offering a five-day partial hospitalization program—and a consolidated outpatient clinic at 20701 76th Ave W that increased capacity from 12 to 30 patients.
