- ➤ The Everett Gospel Mission will begin construction later this year on an expanded shelter that doubles available beds and adds surge capacity for severe weather on Smith Avenue. The first phase is set to finish in time for winter 2027. Everett Herald

- ➤ Amtrak said new Airo train sets will be tested and are scheduled to debut on the Cascades line later this summer or fall—though they will not be ready for World Cup crowds. Limited summer capacity continues as a railcar shortage persists. KUOW

- ➤ Everett Silvertips won 4-1 against the Rockets last Friday at Angel of the Winds Arena in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. The team, spurred by strong plays from young talent and goaltender Anders Miller, is set to play Game 2 today. Everett Herald
