  • The Pilchuck Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will host a Rhododendron festival at a local nursery on Saturday, Apr. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature a truss show of both unusual and common varieties and offer plant care tips (no registration required).  Everett Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Janet Louise Carlson, the founding director who created Sno-Isle TECH, died peacefully on March 24 at age 97. In 2025 she visited the school to recall its early days as a vocational skills center serving 12 districts.  My Everett News

  • The Herald’s prep Athlete of the Week contest ran from April 5-11, with voting closing at midnight on Sunday, and the winner will be revealed in the next poll and on next Wednesday’s paper.  Everett Herald
  • Tuesday, Apr. 14 in Marysville the Snohomish Panthers beat Marysville Getchell 11-4. Brecklin Davisson and Rider Walsh drove key plays while Trevor Vordbruggen pitched nine innings for a 13-hit win that improved the team to 10-3.  Everett Herald
