- ➤ The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved almost $21 million on Thursday to support flood mitigation in Washington & Oregon. Snohomish County received nearly $300,000 to fund an in-depth study of its flood infrastructure following record-breaking December floods. Everett Herald

- ➤ Jackson girls tennis moved to a 9-2 record with wins at Kamiak (H.S.) on Thursday, April 23. Strong performances came from Edmonds-Woodway and Everett teams in track and field meets at Monroe H.S. and Clark Park. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett Silvertips secured a four to one win over the Penticton Vees in Game 1 of the WHL Western Conference Finals at Angel of the Winds Arena on Thursday — their depth scoring lifted the team when top line players were held scoreless.
