CULTURE NEWS

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Everett Community College plans to break ground on an expanded Baker Hall this fall after receiving $38 million to replace the outdated building east of Broadway; demolition begins this summer + the new facility with a cosmetology wing and larger theater is set to open early 2028.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Snohomish County Council awarded $23M from the Housing and Behavioral Health Capital Fund to six projects in Everett, Lynnwood and Arlington — including a shelter expansion by the Everett Gospel Mission and affordable housing developments set to begin construction in fall 2026.  Everett Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Rylan Gould’s double OT goal gave the Silvertips a 5—4 win over the Penticton Vees on Saturday at Angel of the Winds Arena, pushing Everett to a 2—0 series lead in the WHL Western Conference Finals. The team will play in Penticton on Monday and Tuesday.  Everett Herald
  • Mariners’ Bryce Miller returned in a rehab start on Friday, throwing three shutout innings to help the AquaSox win 2-1 before a crowd of 2,189 at Everett Memorial Stadium. The team won its fifth consecutive match and now hosts Local Heroes Night plus other promotions today at the ballpark.  My Everett News
