- ➤ City of Everett and VOAWW opened a 20-unit pallet shelter for women and children in West Everett on Monday, April 27; the facility — with two bathrooms, a community kitchen, and a playground — will start welcoming families mid-May as part of a transitional housing initiative. Everett Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Snohomish County residents can now apply for FEMA disaster aid for flood recovery starting Wednesday as disaster centers rotate among Snohomish, Sultan, and Arlington. The centers, which also offer SBA loan support, accept applications until June 10 — bringing critical help to many who need repairs and temporary housing. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett Transit announced that Route 12 will remain fare-free until further notice as it seeks a nonprofit (in the Casino Road area) to receive a paratransit vehicle for extra service; fare collection will resume once the donation is made. Everett Herald

- ➤ On Monday, Lake Stevens softball rallied past Cascade for a 10-3 win at Phil Johnson Ballfields. Senior Ella Roller and junior Alaina Emme drove key hits that lifted the Vikings above .500 in league play. Everett Herald
- ➤ At Monday’s prep tennis matches, Snohomish beat Everett (a shutout 7 to 0 at Clark Park) and Stanwood outplayed Monroe with shutouts in singles and doubles. The results show competitive play among local high schools. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett's Seagulls lost 10-4 to Snohomish on Monday, April 27 as the visitors scored eight runs in the first three innings; Chase Clark led with a double and an RBI while Rider Walsh and Reve LeRoux each added two hits and an RBI. Everett Herald
