- ➤ More than 100 local women from 100+ Women Who Care will hold a fundraiser on May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Normanna Lodge — 2725 Oakes Ave, Everett to donate pooled funds to a local charity chosen by vote, adding to six years of raising $370,000 for community groups. Snohomish County Tribune

- ➤ A Lynnwood woman was injured when a 48-year-old male intruder attacked her home around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday near 210th Place Southwest—both she and the suspect, who was later arrested in Shoreline, were taken to Harborview Medical Center. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett police arrested a 35-year-old man on Monday evening in south Everett after he allegedly robbed a grocery store by posing as an HVAC maintenance technician on Sunday morning—police used a license plate reader to identify him and he was booked for first-degree robbery. Everett Herald

- ➤ Everett-born electric bassist Carol Kaye, who recently turned 90, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 8 in Los Angeles—an honor for her lifetime work that appears on over 10,000 recordings. Snohomish County Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The County Council will hold a public hearing on May 14 at 10:30 a.m. at 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett, to review proposed updates to the Critical Areas Regulations ordinance that may reduce the current 100-foot buffer for wetlands and streams. The hearing will include discussion of Amendment Three by Council Member Jared Mead — a proposal to change the buffer to 75 feet — with opportunities for public comment. Snohomish County Tribune
- ➤ Everett Public Works announced the new Edgewater Bridge connecting Mukilteo and Everett will open in early 2026 after unexpected underground conditions slowed steel piling work for a temporary work bridge. Demolition of the 1946 bridge began Monday — marking the start of work on a replacement that served about 6,000 vehicles daily. Everett Herald
- ➤ City Councilwoman Mary Fosse announced she will not run for re-election and will serve until December—she endorsed Sam Hem, a local union business agent, to fill the District 1 seat when candidate filing opens on May 9. Fosse said her decision lets her focus on her work as a state Representative. Snohomish County Tribune
