Good morning, Everett.

Officials in Snohomish County are seeking emergency permission to repair a crumbling levee near Stanwood as the national fire chief prepares for a historic fire season amid record-low snowpack and high spring heat — meanwhile, purple martins migrate thousands of miles from Brazil to breed in Tacoma.

The Snohomish Panthers beat Mountlake Terrace 9-3 on Saturday at Snohomish High School, with LeRoux hitting his first career homer and the team scoring five early runs to advance to Tuesday's District 1 3A Tournament semifinal.

Yesterday, Glacier Peak defeated Bothell to secure a state playoff berth + Edmonds-Woodway advanced on a walk-off hit against Stanwood.

Glacier Peak will face Eastlake at 4 p.m. Thursday at Bannerwood Park + Edmonds-Woodway will meet Snohomish at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Stadium.
