- ➤ Gov Bob Ferguson signed a bill into law that requires employers with 50 or more full-time employees to give a 60-day notice to the state, unions or workers before mass layoffs or business closings—this law also protects workers on paid family and medical leave. Everett Post
- ➤ Everett officials said that replacing the 79-year-old Edgewater Bridge will slip to spring 2026 due to unexpected obstructions encountered during early setup; demolition began May 5 and weekly meetings with contractors aim to shorten the delay — the new bridge will be built to better handle earthquakes.
