  • NW Plus Credit Union donated $10,000 to Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center in April after its Youth Month fundraiser, which raised funds through member giving and a matching new member program (across six branches including Everett). The donation supports local efforts to promote early financial education.  My Everett News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dr. James Lewis said that the hantavirus risk is very low here since no cases or exposures have been reported. He noted that worries from a cruise ship outbreak do not change local safety — residents should feel reassured.  Everett Herald

  • Jackson's sophomore Teegan Bridgman won the 4A district singles title with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Glacier Peak's Kumi Jayasinghe in Bellevue on May 13, while Glacier Peak twins Alyssa and Sara Box claimed the doubles crown; state tournament matches begin at 9 a.m. today at Mill Creek Tennis Club.  Everett Herald
