ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents in select Everett neighborhoods can apply online for free trees from the Urban and Community Forest Program, which aims to plant over 3,700 trees by the end of 2028+ the effort targets areas with low tree cover to boost environmental health.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Snohomish County Public Utility District is preparing for future large-load customers like data centers. Officials said they will require new customers to pay for needed upgrades and plan to assess power needs exceeding 2.5+ megawatts.  Everett Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Andre Tarasov’s walk-off RBI single led the Monroe Bearcats to a 1-0 win over Stanwood on Saturday, May 16 in Everett. Gavin Prescott scored the lone run while AJ Welch pitched seven shutout innings to send the team to state.  Everett Herald
  • Mount Vernon Bulldogs secured a 7-4 win over Snohomish Panthers in the District 1 3A Championship on Saturday at Everett Memorial Stadium. Although Snohomish played hard and qualified for the state tournament for the second straight year, Mount Vernon clinched back-to-back district titles.  Everett Herald
