  • Dick's Drive-In said its Everett restaurant will open on June 12 and will host an Orange Ticket contest beginning May 21 at 2 p.m. Twelve winners chosen by clues online will cut the ribbon at the event — CEO Jasmine Donovan said the tradition brings the community together.  My Everett News

CRIME NEWS

  • A Snohomish County judge on Monday denied a motion to dismiss the case against Raul Benitez Santana (34), who is accused of killing state trooper Chris Gadd in a March 2024 crash on I-5, and jury selection begins today with the trial set to last three weeks.  Everett Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Snohomish County is conducting a climate resiliency survey until May 23—asking residents to share their observations of extreme heat, flooding, and wildfire smoke. County staff will review feedback this summer and hold an open house before releasing a draft plan in the fall for public comment.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Everett Municipal Building at 2930 Wetmore Ave. will be closed from June 2 to June 15 for critical electrical updates—city services and staff will remain available by phone, online, and at alternate locations until the building reopens on June 16.  City of Everett

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Everett Performance Omnium will take place on July 12th & 13th with elite and amateur cyclists racing on courses that offer views of the Salish Sea and Cascade Mountains.
