- ➤ NOAH Center responded over the weekend to an emergency call from an elderly woman living in a trailer with 60 cats. On Monday night they took in 32 moms and kittens & will work with her to arrange spay/neuter services while urging donations to replenish their food supply. My Everett News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Darrington School District is urging voters to approve an operations levy in August to maintain a $950,000 yearly funding measure—if the levy fails, it could lead to the loss of athletics and staff cuts and reduce arts and music programs for students. Everett Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ More than 100 emergency rescuers took part in a safety drill Thursday at the Big Four Ice Caves. The exercise led by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office tested both ground and aviation rescue methods using backup radio channels in an area known for poor communications. Everett Herald
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Three county residents received preventative treatment after a bat flew into a private home in rural eastern Snohomish and tested positive—marking the first bat rabies case since 2023. Health officials advise residents to avoid touching bats and to keep pets vaccinated. Everett Herald

- ➤ Everett Silvertips beat the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 6-1 on Friday at Prospera Place, securing their first Memorial Cup Championship ticket and setting up a rematch with the Kitchener Rangers — with Carter Bear and Landon DuPont leading the scoring. Everett Herald
- ➤ Boeing built a new cauldron from airplane parts for Special Olympics Washington and it was unveiled yesterday at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. The cauldron designed at Boeing’s Concept Center in Everett lights up the spring games that will run until Sunday. Everett Herald
