  • The City of Everett will host its free Sorticulture Garden Arts Festival downtown from June 6 to June 8 — featuring over 120 garden artists and nurseries, live entertainment, art and gardening classes, food trucks, and a free shuttle service from Everett Station. The event will celebrate local garden art and handmade outdoor products in a central location.  My Everett News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 60–70 foot boat docked at Port of Everett North Marina A-dock caught fire just after 4:00 p.m. today, and Everett Fire Department quickly extinguished the flames by 4:20 p.m. while all occupants were safely evacuated and damage was limited to the stern, with the cause under investigation.  City of Everett
  • Everett police recovered a sunken shrimp boat and the bodies of two missing passengers on Saturday, May 31—10 days after the vessel sank on May 21—and the search for a third person ended without success.  Everett Herald

  • Everett’s city municipal building is closed today for two weeks for a $36M repair project—Snohomish County Public Utility District is upgrading the air conditioning and infrastructure. City staff remain reachable by phone, email or at alternate locations while the work continues with a planned reopening on June 15.  Everett Herald
  • The May 30 Final Draft Everett 2044 Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations package was released and is available at everettwa.gov/2044; city council meetings in June will review the package & public hearings are set for June 3 and June 11.  City of Everett
