  • On June 6, 2025, the Boeing machinists union opened its 20,000-square-foot training center in Everett across from the Boeing plant to help workers learn skills with virtual reality tools and robotic equipment. The center offers a 12-week program that lets trainees bypass early hiring steps for Boeing jobs—providing a direct route into factory work.  Everett Herald
  • Today, Madison Avenue Pub (905 Madison St.) offers half-price burgers for $7.50 along with prime rib specials and live music, drawing local customers to this longstanding neighborhood spot in Everett.  Everett Herald
  • Dick's Drive-In will open its newest Everett location at 10:30 a.m. on June 12 at 1629 Center Road—bringing a four-day celebration with a ribbon cutting, live music, family activities, and special promotions to mark its 10th restaurant. CRIME NEWS

  • Victor Vivanco-Reyes, a 25-year-old man allegedly living illegally in Stanwood, was arrested Friday on Camano Island after he reportedly crashed a work truck into two federal vehicles and injured federal agents during a chase—he appeared in federal court Monday and remains detained until his hearing scheduled for Friday.  Everett Herald

  • Workers from WSDOT are placing final stripe markings at the new roundabout just south of Ebey Slough as SR 529 closes nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. from Monday night, June 9 to Thursday morning, June 12; drivers on northbound SR 529 will detour via the northbound I-5 on-ramp to Marysville + drivers on southbound I-5 will use the SR 529 off-ramp into Everett until the new I-5 ramps open in July.  My Everett News
  • Gov. Bob Ferguson appointed Snohomish County Health Department Director Dennis Worsham as Washington’s new secretary of health on Monday—his last day at the county will be July 3 and he will start the state role on July 7.  Everett Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Washington State University’s medical school and Providence Regional Medical Center Everett have announced a new fellowship program that will accept two critical care medicine fellows per year starting in summer 2026— a two-year program where fellows will rotate through several intensive care units to help address the local shortage of doctors. The program is set to strengthen the critical care workforce in our community.  Everett Herald

  • Kevin Harvick and his 12 year old son Keelan will race at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe on June 28 in the Mark Galloway 150 Shootout Presented by Tire Pros, with gates opening at 2 p.m. Keelan recently won a head-to-head race in Bakersfield when his father and three other competitors spun out with six laps remaining — the event is part of the Cars Tour West Tri-State Challenge Series, and fans can choose from several ticket options.  Everett Post
