Good morning, Everett.

Kennedy’s Place, a nonprofit founded by recovering real estate agent Lynn Zielasko, now offers 175 beds across 22 houses in Everett and nearby areas to provide sober, transitional housing.

The program requires long leases and weekly recovery meetings (key for accountability) as it continues to expand.

Everett Pride will return this weekend with a downtown block party on Wetmore Avenue from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, drawing thousands to enjoy musical acts, drag performances, and vendors; a 21+ after party will follow at Zamarama Gallery, and a drag brunch will take place Sunday at Bayside Cafe.

AquaSox outfielder Curtis Washington Jr. received a surprise call-up from the Mariners Tuesday when injuries left the outfield thin.

He played at T-Mobile Park (receiving a warm reception) before being optioned back to Everett.

Everett hosts two World Cup watch parties with a large outdoor screen, food trucks, and soccer activity stations.

The fan zone opens tonight at 4 p.m. before a 6 p.m. kickoff and tomorrow at 10 a.m. with a 12 p.m. game start (security protocols enforced).
