Everett Police arrested four individuals—one adult and three juveniles—this spring for gang-related graffiti vandalism tied to incidents involving spray paint, alcohol and stolen firearms, with investigations still ongoing.

On June 17, a Mini Cooper led police on a high-speed chase starting on I-5 in South Everett and later crashed off the Edmonds ferry dock at 11:27 p.m.—two passengers died while three were taken to Harborview Medical Center as authorities investigated the role of drugs and alcohol.

Everett City Council approved a major update to its comprehensive plan that removes most single-family zoning and now requires larger housing developments in areas with a high risk of displacement to include affordable units—while also limiting small-scale corner commercial uses to certain districts. City staff will prepare reports on the inclusionary zoning and neighborhood business policies by June and January, respectively.

On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen visited Compass Health's new behavioral health center at 3322 Broadway in Everett to highlight the impact of proposed federal Medicaid cuts on patients who rely on the program + the nonprofit plans to open the 72,000-square-foot center in August to serve about 1,300 people.
