- ➤ The Everett Animal Shelter received a $20,000 grant from Petco Love to support its pet care services in Snohomish County. Manager Glynis Frederiksen said the funds boosted the shelter's capacity to care for over 1,500 dogs each year—helping continue its long work with adoptions and reunions. Everett Post

- ➤ The Everett Municipal Building will host the Love, Equally exhibit (Love, Equally: The Journey to Marriage Equality) until September as it shares oral histories, photos, and stories that honor the fight for marriage equality in Washington. The exhibit is open to the public Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2930 Wetmore Ave. Snohomish County Tribune

- ➤ The Everett City Council adopted amended ordinances for the Everett 2044 Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulation update on June 18 and Mayor Franklin signed them today. The rules will take effect July 8 — staff are now updating city webpages and preparing public handouts. City of Everett
- ➤ Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough ruled on Monday that language in a budget bill could not include provisions to sell up to 3.3 million acres of U.S. Forest Service land in Snohomish County—blocking a plan to sell public lands for housing. Senator Mike Lee said he will remove the Forest Service land from his proposal, and local officials stressed that keeping these lands is vital for recreation and conservation. Everett Herald
