- ➤ A 13-year-old dove into Silver Lake at around 3 p.m. Tuesday to rescue an 11-year-old boy who fell off a dock, and bystanders and nurses performed CPR— the child is now in stable but critical condition at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Everett Herald
- ➤ An 11-year-old boy fell off a dock at Thornton A. Sullivan Park on Tuesday, July 8 and was rescued by a 13-year-old teen who dove into Silver Lake as bystanders and firefighters performed CPR before taking him to Providence Regional Medical Center. Everett Post

- ➤ Republic Services cancelled Wednesday's garbage pickup for residential customers in Edmonds, Monroe and Snohomish due to a labor disruption caused by a strike of 450 trash collectors from Massachusetts.
