- ➤ Republic Services resumed trash collection Monday in Edmonds, Lynnwood and Snohomish after a two-week strike left residents with piled trash—local union leaders warned the strike could return if fair negotiations do not restart with the company—. The union noted that workers in Lacey and Boston had also joined the protest in solidarity. Everett Herald
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday at 5:30 p.m., a small Cessna plane lost power and made an emergency landing in Puget Sound near Lighthouse Park, with bystanders & boaters helping the three occupants who were taken to a nearby station for treatment, and officials closed the boat dock as they investigate. - ➤ Boeing officials celebrated the start of production for its delayed 777X-8 freighter in Everett on Monday, July 21 when a worker used a robotic arm to drill the first hole in a critical wing spar at the Composite Wing Center—around 100 workers cheered the milestone and officials said the completed plane is expected to be delivered in 2028.
