- ➤ City staff hosted a grand opening on Tuesday for the new off-leash dog area at Clark Park, a $360,000 project that took seven months to complete. The project removed the 103-year-old gazebo amid controversy—local historical groups had opposed its removal—and also added improved lighting and repairs to the nearby playground. Everett Herald

- ➤ On July 26 in Everett, two police officers rushed to a burning crash on I-5 near SR 2 and rescued a trapped driver while both officers later received treatment for smoke inhalation—officials confirmed the driver survived. My Everett News

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On July 27th at 4:38 a.m., Everett police responded to a report on the 8500 block of 7th Avenue SE and found Brent DeArman, 39, fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver whose vehicle dragged him nearly a mile along West Casino Road to 7th Avenue SE — investigators later impounded the vehicle and gathered evidence for the ongoing investigation. - ➤ On July 29, 27 new police officers graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center in Arlington and will begin field training with local agencies (including Everett, Monroe, Marysville, Bothell, and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office). Everett Herald
- ➤ The City of Everett’s Community Development Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing on August 19th at 4:00 p.m. to identify community priority needs for 2026.
