- ➤ Everett police reported a fatal collision today near I-5 off ramp by 41st Street that killed one man and injured a woman and child after the vehicle went off the ramp and flipped multiple times—emergency crews responded and closed northbound ramps. My Everett News

- ➤ Twin brothers from Marysville, Corey J. Taylor and Richard C. Taylor, were arrested after a police chase that began on June 4 when their 2020 Nissan Pathfinder sped away from a traffic stop attempt, and they face trial on Aug. 22 on charges including first degree assault with a firearm, drive-by shooting, and attempted elusion—each with bail set at $1 million. - ➤ On Aug7, a large crowd gathered at the Port of Everett for the Music at the Marina free concert series as Steel Beans—a one-man band born in Everett who now lives in Lynnwood—performed. - ➤ The Washington Department of Ecology is asking local residents to comment on a cleanup plan for a Paine Field training site in south Everett where firefighting foam with PFAS contaminated the ground. The comment period is open until Sept. 10 — officials will use the feedback to plan further investigations and cleanup actions. Everett Herald

- ➤ On August 6, owners of low-income senior housing in Snohomish County filed legal responses after the state sued them for allegedly misleading renters by advertising extra amenities — they say their marketing and lease terms clearly state that features are not guaranteed. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett voters advanced top candidates in primary races with former councilman Scott Murphy edging incumbent Mayor Cassie Franklin and Sam Hem winning the District 1 council seat, while candidates in Districts 2 and 4 also secure spots for the November general election. Voters backed a Snohomish Fire EMS levy lift with 60% support and set a board race for SRFR—results that mark a busy election day in our city. Snohomish County Tribune
- ➤ Downtown Everett will see heavy traffic as Broadway is repaved from California Street to 18th Street starting August 18th—crews will close Broadway nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and reroute vehicles to Colby Avenue, Hewitt Avenue, 23rd Street, and Walnut Street. My Everett News
- ➤ The Washington State Department of Transportation paused an overnight I-5 paving project in Everett due to rainy weather today. The $8.1 million project that began on July 19 will resume next Sunday—work is expected to continue for nine more weeks. Everett Herald
- ➤ On Aug. 6, the FAA approved Harvey Field’s expansion plan that will widen the runway and require moving Airport Way to meet safety rules. The Harveys must secure six permits and those affected can appeal the decision by Oct. 5—steps that will shape the project’s future. Snohomish County Tribune
