- ➤ Mill Creek city officials raised concerns about South County Fire’s new deployment plan that shifted two paramedics from Station 76 and reduced local staffing. The fire authority said the model—announced Aug. 1 and applied mid-July—was based on a detailed review to improve area-wide response, while city leaders demanded immediate restoration of the removed staff. - ➤ Everett extended its mobile opioid treatment program for two years to help unhoused individuals fight addiction—providing medicine, counseling and peer support outside traditional clinics. The city council approved a contract amendment that adds $716,000 from the state to keep the service running through June 30. Everett Post
