Good morning, Everett. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 2nd of September.

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Everett residents will soon visit Wheel and House at 1502 Rucker Avenue, where Betty DoWright and Johnny Latenite offer bike repairs, vintage shopping and house-made food and drinks. The grand opening will feature live music and food samplings in mid-September — the business is housed in a building dating from 1920.  Everett Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Everett lowered speed limits on two streets after City Council approved changes on Wednesday, with a section of Holly Drive between 100th Street SW and Evergreen Way and a part of 16th Street between Grand Avenue and East Marine View Drive reduced from 30 mph to 25 mph—part of the Vision Zero plan. The city will later review speed limits on other streets with a federal grant funding a broader speed management plan.  Everett Herald
