- ➤ At 7 a.m. on September 4, a resident at Village By the Lake condos in South Everett discovered a small ball python roaming near the door, and animal control safely captured it, placing the snake at the Everett Animal Shelter (Python regius) (three years old). My Everett News

- ➤ Natasha O’Dell, a 38-year-old Texas woman who pleaded guilty in April, was sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge in Everett to six years in prison for setting fire to the Seattle Laestadian Lutheran Church near Maltby on August 25, 2023, which caused over $2.5M in damages—she was arrested in Texas in August 2024 and indicted on three felony charges in December. - ➤ A man with an active felony warrant who was fishing at Haller Park jumped into the Stillaguamish River near Arlington on Wednesday to escape a Fish and Wildlife officer—who pursued and caught him downriver before multiple agencies transported them to a patrol vehicle. Everett Herald
